Collaborative Divorce is a non-adversarial, private, and client-centered approach to ending a marriage. This method focuses on cooperation and support, allowing couples to avoid litigation while resolving issues such as property division, child custody, spousal support, and parenting time.
As a Mental Health Professional (MHP) or Coach on Collaborative Teams, I support and help the parties navigate the turbulence, handle their emotions and mitigate behaviors which can block resolution of issues. With consistent and warm neutrality, I help couples ending their marriage communicate about difficult topics with dignity and respect toward each other. I offer insight and support to all of the professionals on the team which has a stabilizing effect on the entire process.
Engaging in a collaborative process lays groundwork for couples and families to move into a new phase of their lives without the emotional and financial hardship that can come in a litigation process.
I work with parents to design a parenting time schedule that will work best for their family and that meets their particular family’s needs.
As a Child Specialist on Collaborative Teams, I bring the child’s voice into the process. I have extensive training in child development and decades of experience working with children and adolescents.
