Family and Child Specialist

Family Specialist Mediation is intended to assist parents in communicating what is important to each of you, creating common parenting goals and making decisions during the divorce process that are consistent with these goals. My role as a Family Specialist is to facilitate productive discussions and brainstorming ideas to help you make informed decisions for your family. 

I also provide Family Specialist Services to individuals and couples who are in all phases of a change process. 

As a Family Specialist and on Collaborative Divorce Teams, I support and help the parties navigate the turbulence, handle their emotions and mitigate behaviors which can block resolution of issues. With consistent and warm neutrality, I help couples ending their marriage communicate about difficult topics with dignity and respect toward each other. I offer insight and support to all of the professionals on the team which has a stabilizing effect on the entire process.

Some Collaborative Teams engage a Child Specialist. In that role, I bring the child’s voice into the process. I have extensive training in child development and decades of experience working with children and adolescents.

Collaborative Divorce is a non-adversarial, private, and client-centered approach to ending a marriage. This method focuses on cooperation and support, allowing couples to avoid litigation while resolving issues such as property division, child custody, spousal support, and parenting time. 

Engaging in a collaborative process lays groundwork for couples and families to move into a new phase of their lives without the emotional and financial hardship that can come in a litigation process. I work with parents to design a parenting time schedule that will work best for their family and that meets their particular family’s needs.
